Speaking Part 1 – Câu Hỏi Thường Gặp

1. Tell me about your hometown.

Bài mẫu: I’m from Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. It’s a vibrant city with a rich history and amazing street food. I’ve been living there for over 20 years, and I absolutely love the vibrant atmosphere and friendly people.

2. What do you do for work?

Bài mẫu: I’m currently working as a software engineer at a tech startup. I’ve been in this role for about two years now, and I find it really rewarding because I get to solve complex problems every day.

3. What do you do in your free time?

Bài mẫu: In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, especially non-fiction about personal development. I also enjoy playing badminton with my friends on weekends, which helps me stay fit and relaxed.

Speaking Part 2 – Cue Card

Đề: Describe a book you recently read.

You should say:

  • What the book is
  • Who wrote it
  • What it is about
  • And explain why you liked it

Bài mẫu Band 7.0+:

I’d like to talk about a book I recently read called “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. It’s a self-help book that explores how small changes in our daily habits can lead to remarkable results over time.

The book is divided into four main parts, each focusing on a different aspect of habit formation. What I found particularly fascinating was the author’s concept of the “1% rule” – the idea that improving by just 1% every day can lead to significant improvements over time.

The reason I loved this book so much is that it’s incredibly practical. Unlike many self-help books that are full of abstract theories, “Atomic Habits” provides actionable strategies that you can implement immediately. For example, the author suggests using “habit stacking” – attaching new habits to existing ones – which is something I’ve personally found very effective.

Overall, I’d highly recommend this book to anyone looking to make positive changes in their life, whether it’s building better study habits or breaking bad habits.

Speaking Part 3 – Discussion Questions

1. Do you think reading books is still important in the digital age?

Bài mẫu: Absolutely. While digital media has become increasingly prevalent, I believe books still play a crucial role in our intellectual development. Unlike social media posts, which are often superficial, books provide in-depth analysis and encourage critical thinking. Moreover, reading books helps improve concentration and focus, which are increasingly rare skills in today’s fast-paced world.

2. How has technology changed the way people read?

Bài mẫu: Technology has revolutionized reading in numerous ways. Firstly, e-books and audiobooks have made reading more accessible than ever before. People can now carry thousands of books in their pockets and listen to books while commuting. However, I think this has also led to a decline in deep reading habits, as people tend to skim through content rather than engage with it deeply.
