TOEIC Part 1 – Photo Questions là phần đầu tiên và “dễ ăn điểm” nhất của bài thi TOEIC. Bạn có 6 câu hỏi, mỗi câu là 1 ảnh + 4 mô tả ngắn (A/B/C/D), chọn mô tả đúng nhất. Bài này tổng hợp chiến lược + 100 mẫu câu thông dụng giúp bạn ăn trọn 6/6 điểm part này.

I. Cấu trúc Part 1

  • Số câu: 6 câu
  • Thời gian: ~3 phút
  • Hình thức: Xem ảnh – nghe 4 mô tả – chọn câu đúng nhất
  • Mỗi câu chỉ nghe 1 lần, không có đề trước mặt (chỉ có ảnh)

II. Chiến lược tổng quát

  1. Quan sát ảnh trước: trong 5 giây trước khi nghe, ghi nhận ai, đang làm gì, ở đâu.
  2. Dự đoán từ khóa: nghĩ trước về từ vựng có thể xuất hiện (man, woman, table, computer…).
  3. Loại trừ từng option: nghe đến đâu loại đến đó, không cần nghe đủ 4 mới chọn.
  4. Cẩn thận từ “look alike”: copy/coffee, write/right, walk/work.
  5. Đề phòng bẫy chia thì: present continuous vs present simple, has been + V3.

III. 5 dạng ảnh phổ biến

Dạng 1: Ảnh người làm hành động (Action – 40%)

Cấu trúc câu hay gặp: S + is/are + V-ing + …

Ví dụ mẫu:

  • A man is typing on a laptop.
  • The woman is pouring water into a cup.
  • People are walking down the street.
  • A man is repairing the car.
  • The students are taking notes.
  • A waiter is serving food to customers.
  • She is talking on the phone.
  • They are shaking hands.

Dạng 2: Ảnh đồ vật (Object – 25%)

Cấu trúc câu: S + is/are + V3 / has been V3 / S + is/are + ADJ / There is/are…

  • Some books are stacked on the shelf.
  • The chairs are arranged in a row.
  • A laptop is placed on the desk.
  • Boxes have been piled up in the corner.
  • The bicycles are parked outside.
  • Curtains are hanging by the window.

Dạng 3: Ảnh phong cảnh / địa điểm (Setting – 15%)

  • The road is being repaired.
  • Buildings line both sides of the street.
  • Trees are surrounding the lake.
  • A bridge crosses the river.
  • The platform is crowded with people.

Dạng 4: Ảnh nhiều người + tương tác (10%)

  • People are gathered around a table.
  • A group is having a meeting.
  • Customers are waiting in line.
  • The audience is listening to a presentation.

Dạng 5: Ảnh trạng thái (passive description – 10%)

  • The window is open.
  • The light is turned off.
  • The shop is closed.
  • The food has been served.

IV. Bẫy thường gặp (TRAPS)

1. Bẫy “look alike” (từ giống)

  • copy / coffee
  • write / right
  • boat / vote
  • fan / pan
  • tail / sale

Mẹo: Nghe kỹ ngữ cảnh, đừng chọn theo “âm gần đúng”.

2. Bẫy chia thì sai

Ảnh có người đang làm hành động → câu present continuous đúng. Câu “has done” hay “is going to do” thường là bẫy.

  • Ảnh: 1 người đang gõ máy tính → “He is typing.” ✓
  • Bẫy: “He has finished typing.” ✗ (không có dấu hiệu đã xong)

3. Bẫy thông tin không có trong ảnh

Câu mô tả thứ không nhìn thấy trong ảnh – dù logic vẫn sai.

  • Ảnh: 1 cốc cà phê trên bàn
  • Bẫy: “Someone is drinking the coffee.” (không có ai uống trong ảnh)
  • Đúng: “A cup of coffee is on the table.”

4. Bẫy đại từ sai số / sai ngôi

Ảnh 1 người mà câu dùng “they” → sai. Ảnh nhiều người mà câu dùng “she” → sai.

5. Bẫy giới từ sai

Ảnh quyển sách trên bàn → “on the table” đúng. “Under the table” sai.

1. Văn phòng (15 câu)

  • The man is using a computer.
  • She is typing on a keyboard.
  • They are having a meeting.
  • He is talking on the phone.
  • She is reading a document.
  • Papers are scattered on the desk.

  • People are gathered around the conference table.

2. Nhà hàng / khách sạn (15 câu)

  • The waiter is serving food.
  • She is taking an order.

  • A man is pouring wine into a glass.
  • She is reading the menu.
  • The table is set for dinner.
  • Plates are being cleared from the table.
  • The hotel staff is checking guests in.
  • She is carrying her luggage.
  • The bellhop is helping with the bags.
  • He is checking out at the front desk.

3. Giao thông (15 câu)

  • Cars are stopped at the traffic light.
  • The bus is approaching the stop.
  • People are boarding the train.
  • She is buying a ticket.
  • He is riding a bicycle.
  • The train is leaving the platform.
  • Passengers are waiting on the platform.
  • A man is getting into a taxi.
  • The road is congested with traffic.
  • Pedestrians are crossing the street.
  • The driver is parking the car.
  • People are walking on the sidewalk.
  • Bicycles are parked in a rack.
  • A plane is taking off.
  • Passengers are getting off the bus.

4. Cửa hàng / mua sắm (10 câu)

  • She is shopping at a grocery store.
  • Products are displayed on the shelves.
  • The cashier is scanning items.
  • He is paying with a credit card.
  • A customer is examining a product.
  • The store is crowded with shoppers.
  • She is pushing a shopping cart.
  • Items are being packed into a bag.
  • The salesperson is helping a customer.
  • Goods are arranged neatly on display.

5. Phong cảnh / công trình (15 câu)

  • The building is being constructed.
  • Workers are repairing the road.
  • Trees line both sides of the street.
  • A bridge spans the river.
  • The park is full of people.
  • Boats are docked at the harbor.
  • The lake is surrounded by mountains.
  • People are sitting on benches.
  • The fountain is in the middle of the plaza.
  • The sun is setting behind the buildings.

6. Hoạt động cá nhân (15 câu)

7. Hành động & cụm thông dụng (15 câu)

  • He is pointing at something.
  • She is handing over a document.
  • They are unpacking boxes.
  • He is wiping the table.
  • She is reaching for an item on the shelf.
  • He is bending down to pick up something.
  • She is looking through a microscope.
  • He is wearing a uniform.
  • She is putting on a coat.
  • He is leaning against a wall.
  • She is fastening her seatbelt.

  • He is gesturing with his hand.
  • She is laughing at a joke.

VI. Mẹo cuối

  1. Đừng overthink: chọn câu đúng nhất với ảnh, đừng phân tích quá sâu.
  2. Loại trừ nhanh: nếu A sai, không xem lại A nữa.
  3. Nghe trạng từ: “carefully”, “quickly” có thể là bẫy.
  4. Cẩn thận “is being + V3”: passive present continuous – chỉ đúng khi có người trong ảnh đang thực hiện hành động đó.
  5. Nếu lưỡng lự, chọn câu chung chung an toàn.
